      <image:title>home - NJ AGWUNA</image:title>
<image:caption>NJ AGWUNA is a freelance theater and film director hailing from central Maryland. Performing from a young age, NJ began studying theater at REP Stage Summer Institute, where she not only learned the art of acting, but was also inspired to pursue the adventurous life of directing. Theater’s ability to shift and grow with society truly excites her. She has started moving more towards new works and reimagining ways to create thought provoking pieces. Working with companies such as Third Rail Productions and Punch Drunk has given her new insight into how to affect audiences in a way that makes them ask tough questions, connect to characters in new ways, and grow, shift and change their idea of what theater is and their experience with it. She approaches theater with curiosity and wonder, believing that theater can not only heal us, but show us all the possibilities of the world that we inhabit. She has worked on a national and international scale continuing to explore classic text, developing new plays, devising, and investigating new ways to explore trauma and mental illness through theater. NJ Agwuna is a 2018 graduate of Columbia University School of the Arts, NY.</image:caption>

<image:title>PARTNER WITH US - NEW YORK CITY COLLOQUIUM</image:title>
<image:caption>As part of Drew’s AP Capstone program, students spend a semester asking what theatre is, should be, its role in society, and their relationship to it. Students read and discuss various manifestos, write one of their own, attend live performances, and reflect on their experiences. They study how to collectively create an ensemble production, training with Tectonic Theater Project who guides them towards developing an original performance piece that is produced as part of the theater department’s season. Tectonic’s collaboration with Drew University is ongoing as this Colloquium is offered every other year.</image:caption>
