MOMENT WORK FOR DIRECTORS AND DESIGNERS
with Moisés Kaufman

In this first of its kind workshop, Tony and Emmy Award-nominated director and playwright Moisés Kaufman works with directors and designers in a specialized laboratory to explore the elements of the stage (lights, sets, sound, and costumes) through the lens of staging and storytelling.

Participants will learn how to fully harness each element for its dramatic, poetic and narrative potential. Guest design professionals will visit the class to co-create moments and discuss creativity and collaboration. Participants will select scenes from a play to work with for the week in collaboration with Kaufman.

In this popular offering, Moisés Kaufman and NJ Agwuna empower actors to use Moment Work to understand the language of the stage and to hone their craft. Kaufman provides actors with tools they can use in both rehearsal and performance to develop their characters and deepen their expertise. Participants will select a character from a play as well as a monologue to work on in collaboration with Kaufman.

*For new students: Introduction to Moment Work is a prerequisite to taking Moment Work for the Actor
